Apostille Processing & Document Authentication

When your Florida documents need to be used in a foreign country, they must go through an official government certification process before they will be legally recognized abroad. The process depends on whether your destination country is a member of the Hague Convention of 1961.

Hague Convention Countries — Apostille. If your destination country is a Hague Convention member, your documents require an apostille. The apostille is a standardized certification recognized by all Hague member countries and is the faster, more streamlined of the two processes. We manage the entire apostille submission process with the Florida Secretary of State on your behalf.

Non-Hague Countries — Authentication. If your destination country is not a Hague Convention member, your documents require authentication — also called legalization. Authentication is a more involved, multi-step process that may include state-level certification, federal processing through the U.S. Department of State, and embassy or consulate legalization for the destination country. Requirements vary by country and document type, so we assess each authentication request individually to provide accurate timelines and next steps.

Not sure which process applies to you? Contact us before ordering and we will confirm exactly what your documents require based on your destination country.

Professional Notarization Service

Many documents require notarization by a Florida notary public before they can be apostilled. We offer professional notarization services so you can complete both steps in one seamless process.

Why use our notarization service?

Incorrectly notarized documents are one of the most common — and most avoidable — causes of apostille delays and rejections. When clients have documents notarized independently, errors in the notarization often require the entire process to start over, causing frustrating delays and additional costs.

When we handle your notarization, we guarantee it is done correctly the first time — keeping your apostille on schedule with no surprises. Flat fee: $100 regardless of the number of notarizations required. No hidden fees. No risk of incorrect notarization derailing your apostille.

Three Ways to Submit Your Documents

FBI Background Checks & Federal Document Apostille

FBI background check reports and other government-issued federal documents require a separate apostille process that is distinct from our standard apostille service. These documents take longer to process and do not qualify for our 2-day express service.

We offer two processing options for these documents:

Standard Processing

Processing time: Approximately 5+ weeks

Best for: Non-urgent needs where timeline is flexible

Expedited Processing

Processing time: Approximately 10–12 business days

Best for: Clients who need their apostille completed faster

Important: If your order includes both standard apostille documents and FBI or government-issued documents, each will follow its own processing timeline. We will clearly communicate expected timelines for each document in your order so there are no surprises.Contact us before ordering if your documents include FBI reports or government-issued records and we will confirm the most accurate timeline and processing option for your specific situation.

Documents for Non-Hague Convention Countries

Not all countries are members of the Hague Convention. For documents intended for use in non-Hague countries, the authentication process is more complex and may involve multiple steps — depending on the specific country and document type.

Because requirements vary significantly by country and document type, we assess each non-Hague request individually to provide you with accurate timelines and requirements.

Contact us before ordering if your destination country is not a Hague Convention member — we will walk you through exactly what is needed for your specific situation.
